This is the official event page for Opelika's Snopelika Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting! Snopelika is an annual community event held to kick off the Christmas season in Opelika. Thousands of local citizens attend to celebrate every year, with visitors traveling from around the area. We kick off the Christmas season by bringing cheer to all those who attend! This year's Snopelika will be held on Friday, December 5th beginning at 5:30pm in downtown Opelika! It is a rain or shine event. Come see the tallest Christmas Tree in town at Snopelika!
Opelika's annual Christmas Parade kicks off all of the festivities at 5:30pm! Local citizens gather all throughout the downtown streets for the evening parade to see 90+ parade entries. Different themed floats as well as local marching bands, horses & vintage vehicles parade through streets!
At the conclusion of the parade, enjoy a snowy winter wonderland, Christmas music, snowball fights with the Opelika Police Department, food trucks, picture opportunities galore, and even a chance to visit Santa Claus at the Courthouse steps!
At 8:30pm, everyone will gather around the 72ft Christmas tree for the official reading of “The Night Before Christmas” Opelika Edition and watch as we flip the switch to light the Christmas Tree! You won't want to miss this magical night!
