Families, young riders, and cycling enthusiasts are invited to grab their bikes and helmets for this year’s Community Bike Rodeo, a free, family-friendly event designed to promote bike riding, healthy recreation, and essential bicycle safety skills.
Hosted by Opelika Cub Scout Pack 858 the Bike Rodeo will take place on Saturday April 18th from 10 am - 12 pm at The Old Train Depot, 1032 S. Railroad Avenue in Downtown Opelika The event brings together the scouts, bicycle advocates, and safety professionals to empower young riders with the confidence and knowledge they need to enjoy cycling safely.
Event highlights include:
🚲 Bike skills obstacle course
🔧 Free bike safety checks and tune-up tips
⛑ Helmet fitting and safety demonstrations
🚓 Engagement with local police and fire departments
Participants will need to bring their own bicycles and helmets.
The Community Bike Rodeo supports the city’s broader goals of promoting active living, safe streets, and hands-on learning. Families can also connect with local groups offering information on youth cycling, trail systems, and additional recreational programs.
