Join us at the Onset Bay Center for our third-annual Halloween Paddle Parade! Dress up in your spookiest or most creative costume, and paddle with your crew around Wickets Island, guided by Onset Bay Center staff. This family-friendly event is FREE and open to all members of the community!
Participants may bring their own board, kayak or other paddle craft, or book one of ours! Register here, and let us know if you'll be bringing your own paddle craft and paddle or would like to borrow one of ours. Kayaks and paddleboards are limited, and pre-registration is required to use OBC equipment.
*This is a guided event, not a lesson. Participants should be comfortable on the craft they are using*
Schedule:
11:00 am - Check in
11:30 AM - Paddle craft ready on the beach & safety brief. Launch from Onset Beach and circumnavigate Wickets Island! !
12:30 PM - 1:00 PM- All crafts back on beach & put away
(OBC staff and safety boats will lead the way!)
Great options for single paddlers:
Single sit on top kayak (also a good option for 1 adult & 1 small child)
Single paddleboard
Great options for families or groups:
Double kayak (2-3 people, maximum 2 adults and 1 small child)
Canoe (max 3 people)
Giant Paddleboard (up to 10 people)
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please make sure all costumes are safe and appropriate. Spectators are welcome to stay on the beach or pier and watch the paddlers as they parade around the bay!
PFDs are required to be worn at all times while on the water for all participants. OBC PFDs will be available to anyone who needs to use them.
