Jose Padua’s first book A Short History of Monsters was chosen by Billy Collins as the winner of the 2019 Miller Williams Poetry Prize and released by the University of Arkansas Press. His poetry fiction and nonfiction have appeared in many publications. He has read his work at Lollapalooza CBGB the Knitting Factory the Public Theater the Living Theater the Nuyorican Poets' Café the St. Mark's Poetry Project and many other venues. He was a featured reader at the 2012 Split This Rock poetry festival and won the New Guard Review’s 2014 Knightville Poetry Prize. After living for the past twelve years in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and Washington DC he and his family have moved slightly north to Lancaster Pennsylvania.
A recent recipient of an Independent Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council Alison Palmer is the author of Everything Is Normal Here her 2nd poetry chapbook slated for release by Broadstone Books September 2022 and a full-length poetry collection Bargaining with the Fall slated for release by Broadstone Books December 2022. Alison has been widely published in journals such as Rogue Agent The Journal The Cincinnati Review River Styx FIELD and Crazyhorse.
