About this Event

Whole Setting Approach to supporting Mental Health & Wellbeing in the Workplace

For: Universal EYFS* (excluding Schools and Childminders)

*Universal EYFS = All Practitioners working with EYFS children in a Day Nursery, Pre-School, Out of School Provision.

All courses are being offered at a highly subsidised rate to acknowledge and support your current potential financial issues due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ticket prices will vary for each course/event depending on trainers cost.

Delivery Information:-

This course will take place via Zoom Video Conferencing, learners will be provided with support, instructions and a link to join the course. All learners will attend by video call as standard. Zoom is accessible on PCs, tablets and smartphones.

By signing up to this course you are providing your consent to the email address you provide at the point of booking to be shared with the training provider to enable the trainer to contact you regarding this specific course only.

The training provider will email you one week prior to the live event with information, materials, resources and a link to the live training event.

Live Training Event - Wednesday 9th December 2020 from 1pm – 4.30pm

A mentally healthy setting is one that adopts a ‘whole-setting approach’ to mental health and wellbeing. It is an inclusive, nurturing setting that helps children flourish, learn and succeed by providing opportunities for them and supporting them with any difficulties. A whole setting approach allows everybody to feel valued & cared for and where child, staff and parent/carer mental health and wellbeing is seen as ‘everybody’s business’.

Course aims and objectives:-

• Gain new knowledge around mental health & wellbeing in the workplace

• Develop knowledge around the importance of being an attachment/trauma aware & responsive setting

• Learn new ideas to support staff wellbeing

• Design your own bespoke self-care routine to help gain a healthy work-life balance

• Gain ideas for creating a holistic nurturing environment

Learning outcomes:-

• Take part in fun, engaging learning activities

• Gain helpful advice and guidance

• Share good practice with others

• Be able to put into practice new knowledge to create a whole setting approach to supporting staff, parents and children


Sunrise Wellbeing – Shelley Smith is an experienced trainer and Integrative Psychotherapist. Shelley brings together her knowledge of working within the education sector and in therapeutic practice to support delegates in gaining new understanding and awareness around mental health and wellbeing.

The Early Years Inclusion and Childcare Service is a service within Leicestershire County Council.   The Workforce Improvement Team commissions and provides training and development opportunities for the Leicestershire Schools and Private, Voluntary and Independent Childcare Sector.   Individuals who are not part of a provision registered on either part of The Childcare Register in Leicestershire may attend some of our training courses but will need to pay the rate for ‘Non-Leicestershire Early Years Registered Provider’ including nannies.   By submitting a course booking you agree to the following Terms and Conditions including giving consent for us to use and process the data you provide us with in line with the law on data protection and Leicestershire County Council’s Data Protection and Privacy Policies which can be found here:- CANCELLATION POLICY:- We are currently trialling a ‘7 days’ notice’ cancellation policy: - Remember you can log into your Eventbrite account and change the details of each delegate (ticket holder) at any time prior to the course taking place. Where a course is FREE you can cancel your place without incurring a cancellation charge, you do this on Eventbrite. However, if you cancel a place or fail to attend after the 7 days cancellation offer has ended you will be charged £25 (childminders) and £50 (nursery/pre-school). This will be recovered either through deducting FEEE payments or raising an invoice. Where a course is chargeable you can cancel your place and request a refund, you do this on Eventbrite. However, if you cancel a place or fail to attend after the 7 days cancellation offer has ended you will not be entitled to any refund of booking fees made.    If you need to cancel your place on ANY course and you inform us at least 7 days in advance of the course we may be able to offer you an alternative date within the same term.  An alternative includes courses charged at the same value or less, no refund of surplus fees will be made if you move to a course with a lower booking fee.     If Leicestershire County Council cancels a course for any reason we will offer an alternative course or date or refund of fees paid.    Course Bookings on Eventbrite ‘Top Tips’:- Create an account on Eventbrite and remember your login details To speed up future bookings you ‘can’ save a debit card and/or paypal account to your Eventbrite account, so you don’t have to enter your payment details each time you make a booking You can log into your account and change the delegate name on your tickets at any time You can see what courses/events you have booked at any time Click ‘FOLLOW’ on the Early Years Inclusion and Childcare Service so you can easily find our courses in future You can typically book up to 5 places on each course It is the responsibility of the setting to ensure that staff members are aware of the courses they are booked onto and sufficient cover has been arranged Course queries should be directed to You can add events to your ‘calendar’ (outlook etc) ‘Your Information’ is the person making the booking Ticket is the Delegate/Person who will be attending the training course, the name entered here will be displayed on the course register (please ensure this is correct) Correctly enter the name of your setting, school, club or childminding business, again this will be shown on the register and tells us which provisions are being represented on the course/event Correctly enter the relevant email address and telephone number; by creating an account this information will be saved and you will not need to enter it each time you make a booking
