Becoming a new parent can be an emotional and busy time, and we understand that opportunities for nurturing our feelings and time for self-care can be limited.
Research by the New Economics Foundation has evidenced that mindfulness is one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, and has been proven to help to manage and lower stress and increase wellbeing in the every day, and during big life changes. This current time has brought a new set of unexpected challenges for new parents, and mindfulness is one of the ways in which we can support our mental health and resilience during these times.
At Your Space we invite new parents to learn more about how small amounts of mindfulness can help with family life and support self-care for new mothers and fathers. The session will include:
- Everyday self-care ideas for you as a parent
- Fun mindfulness activities for you with your baby
- Information on local online wellbeing resources such as Mindwell
- Informal discussions around parenthood in a safe space facilitated by a Your Space team member.
