VR and AR in education may make the most revolutionary impact on society. With retention stats proving VR/AR dramatically improving retention learning capabilities how will this change approaches to teaching and classroom activities? With changes in the classroom environment and remote learning due to the pandemic what role will VR and AR play at both the K-12 and college levels? We will explore these questions and more with our experts who are at the forefront of these new educational horizons.

The virtual environment resembles a physical space, so you will be able to talk with other attendees prior to the start of the presentations during open networking. The sound is spatialized, so if at any point it feels too loud, feel free to move your conversation to another part of the room where there are less people.
We begin with informal networking and then start the stage portion promptly at 6:15pm CDT. There will be a handful of presentations before we move on to answer audience questions and then finish with more networking. Many people are not yet aware that XR can be used for purposes beyond gaming. The purpose of XRconnectED is to inform companies about the ways that the technologies can be used and the benefits that XR can bring in productivity, efficiency, customer engagement, employee performance, and more.
Puzzil AR is one-part AR educator and one-part AR developer. Puzzil's goal is to educate students about AR and its applications as well as develop fun, social AR educational apps!
Clever Fox, Dekker Dreyer's commercial studio, has created content with companies Disney, Warner Bros, and Digital Domain as well as artists like Bootsy Collins, Disturbed, and Devo.
The DePaul University College of Communication is interested in exploring how communication and technology intersect, including how we use tools to communicate. The Virtual and Augmented Reality Communication Lab (VARC) houses state-of-the-art equipment for virtual and augmented reality. At the VARC Lab, we want to help people learn how to effectively and ethically communicate in VR and AR. The lab is a space for students and faculty to experience VR/AR technology firsthand and explore how these tools impact society, culture, media and interpersonal relationships.
