Feel free to come masquerade style (optional) and celebrate as they did on the most elegant of ballrooms in Piazza San Marco, the Piazzetta, the Ducal Palace, or in the Bacino.A portion of tonight’s proceeds will go to the American Cancer SocietyFeaturing:1) VENETIAN ITALIAN COOKING CLASSBegin the festivities tonight with an amazing Caribbean cooking class from Rock.  From A to Z, he will walk you through the steps to create a phenomenal Venetian style meal and dessert.2)  ITALIAN MIXOLOGY BARTENDERLearn how to make special Italian cocktails and discover which wines and drinks are best for an Italian Ball.3) VIRTUAL OPERA PRESENTATION: The first opera was performed in 1600 at the wedding of Maria de Medici and Henry IV of France at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. Since then, Italy has created much of the world’s greatest opera. From Monteverdi’s creations at the Teatro San Cassiano, to Rossini’s comic operas such as The Barber of Seville, to the new and rising opera pièces of the 21st Century, the standard for all opera originates in, and permeates, the Italian soul.4) VIRTUAL BALLROOM DANCE LESSONSAn expert ballroom dance team will teach you the basics for an incredible dance.  Whether or not you have a partner at home to practice with, our instructors will have you dancing the waltz and Tango as if you were dancing on the streets of St. Mark’s Square.5) ITALIAN GREETING 6)  VENETIAN MASQUERADE COMPETITIONWear your Venetian masks/outfits or create a unique one.    Tonight, we will judge both professional masks and self-made masks.    Winners will receive prizes.7) LATE NIGHT DJTonight’s DJ will get you off your seats and into a live, interactive dancing party!  From Italian hits to European and American Retro and Top 40, you’ll find yourself dancing in the center of the   embassy ballroom8) BREAKOUT ROOMSAt some point during the evening, we will break out into smaller rooms and offer you the chance to chat one on one with your new friends.  Share stories about past Italian experiences, get ideas, and perhaps make new friends that can last a lifetime.9) WIN A TRIPDuring the evening, we will host a drawing for one lucky attendee to win a trip to Jamaica (Air and 2 Night Hotel) 10) CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION:  In memory of a former TTD staff member, a portion of each ticket will be going to the American Cancer Society.
