- **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 04 Jan, 2021 at 12:00 am – Tue, 02 Feb, 2021 at 11:00 pm
- **Event Description**: This is not an ordinary gratitude challenge. It's about BEING not DOING. (How grateful are you already? ) Learn to foster a genuine feeling of gratitude and see how it impacts you — your physical emotional and spiritual health. This challenge includes a short and long gratitude focused loving kindness meditation daily accountability mindfulness themes and a bonus gratitude journal PDF for scripture reflection. You can sign up and start right away! Did you know that 75% of employees believe workers have more on-the-job stress than a generation ago? Or that 26% of workers said they were “often or very often burned out or stressed by their work.” *According to the American Institute of Health, about 1 million workers are absent DAILY due to stress, costing $3.5 million per year. But the good news is that for every $1 spent on common mental health disorders, like anxiety, there's a $4 return for improved health and productivity. My name is Amy Denney. I am a certified trauma-sensitive Christian yoga instructor with a small business in Springfield, Illinois, and I help people manage their stress body, mind and spirit. One year I got hooked by a really interesting gratitude challenge. Maybe interesting is the wrong word. It was very, very challenging. It was about doing things. A lot of things. The worst part was I shared it on social media and a bunch of my friends also thought it looked great and signed up. I could practically hear their sighs of relief when I confessed I was totally not going to do it anymore. Yes, it was a nice program. It was too much. Sometimes lists and challenges can make me feel overwhelmed. Or shameful. Or inadequate. And goodness gracious, the whole idea of a challenge just hurts my heart this year. Aren't we challenged enough?!? But I do want to help you offer something that is both proven to help with self care AND isn't a burden but a blessing. My 30-day Gratitude Meditation Challenge will help you and/or your employees (or volunteers and/or clients) foster a feeling of gratitude and see how it impacts them — their physical, emotional and spiritual health. They will quantify it, notice it and explore how it changes their lives when they make it a habit. This makes a great gift! The daily commitment starts at just 30 seconds and no more than 30 minutes, depending on the level of engagement each person chooses.I’m offering two meditations — a short one and a long one. (But if even the short one seems impossible, I have a plan B that starts with a 30-second daily commitment.)Those who meditate consistently have more contentment, gratitude, calmness, dopamine surges, refined focus, grounding, better relationships, improved immune systems, better productivity, improved empathy, and sharpened mental clarity. If this sounds like an impossible gift, I have a secret for you. Science says it’s more than possible. People who practice a daily loving-kindness meditation experience more self-compassion, empathy and forgiveness. There are dozens of studies on the benefits of the LKM. Just do a quick search online, and you will be amazed. It’s why this challenge is so powerful. And my participants DO nothing, they just sit and BE there while they listen to me lead them in this simple meditation.Beyond that, they can also participate in the broad focus. We will spend six days on each of five main themes. What does that mean? Well, it's just a word for them to think about for six days. That's it.There will also be a PDF gratitude journal to record thoughts and reflect daily. Guess what? It's just an option, too. Each can participate at their comfort level, which may be no more than 30 seconds a day for 30 days. This is designed FOR you, to assist you and your employees. And when they do the work, no matter how much or how little, they will be set up for success in and out of the workplace — a win for you AND your valued people.I'm excited to begin 2021 with a renewed sense of strength, peace and especially gratitude. Even though it's hard. God knows it's hard. But WE are worth it.The cost is just $15 for individuals, I am offering a $50 fee for social service agencies to utilize this for their employees and a $100 fee for businesses. Contact me for more information to pay this incredible flat fee for your entire organization!

"description": "Hi! I’m Amy, a former investigative/medical journalist turned light therapy specialist, who is passionate about helping people who are desperately hurting and feel unheard or frustrated by the side effects of medicine. My larger-than-life, shoot-for-the-moon purpose is to help people lower their stress and pain, and enjoy life abundantly (maybe for the first time). \r\n\r\nI’m a bit nerdy about using systems and tools — like guided journals on empowerment, coloring devotions, geeky planners that have more space for to-do lists than appointments (because pushing 50=forgetful), online programs for fitness, yoga trapeze in the living room for my back, my light system for just about everything and my prayer journal, which is my FAVORITE. I like to use apps for some things, too, like Bible reading. These things are fun to me…and they keep my disciplined, feeling my best and joyful. Win-win-win. Guess what? Tools also work! ;-) \r\n\r\nI’m slightly adventurous, as in I’ll try things outside my comfort zone like indoor climbing and zip lines in spite of my insane fear of heights, but you’ll never find me skydiving. Nope. Even adventurous people can have boundaries, okay? I’m also open-minded, because being so has led me to my own healing, fun hobbies, incredible friendships and most importantly, a relationship with Jesus. I love people and feel like I can learn something from just about everyone. But I’m an introvert, so if you meet me in real life, I’ll be pretty quiet — until you get to know me. Then I just don’t shut up. True story. \r\n\r\nI loathe liver and onions, but I do like onions on most everything else — raw, cooked and especially grilled. My pet peeve is people who make statements about who should “unfriend” them on social media — don’t be such a passive-aggressive A-hole; if someone offends your viewpoint, then you can unfriend them. This would make the world a better place… My other pet peeve is people who don’t load the dishwasher correctly. That’s all the people in my house, but the other 99.8% of the time, I totally adore my encouraging husband, talented teens and busybody kindergartner. \r\n\r\nI adore yoga, especially Christian yoga. I’ve got a few certifications and I love to help guide people into relaxation and tap into the parasympathetic using meditations, challenges, retreats and classes I occasionally offer online. \r\n\r\nIf you are intrigued by the power of light therapy (hint: you should be!), then set up a 15-minute chat with me to see if my rental program is right for you. Find me at www.shinelightherapy.com."
