The role of the body in trauma is often discussed and explored in the therapeutic realm. We have begun to explore the somatic intelligence embedded within this multicellular organism more recently. The body offers us a portal into the present moment as it simply can't exist anywhere else. And therefore, its consciousness is awareness of the present moment, which dances with our natural intuitive processes. The body's language to communicate to the mind is through the senses, changes in heat, different sensations, olfactory stimulation, shifts in the auditory experience, through the salivary glands and taste buds.
Suppose we attune ourselves to the body and learn to pay attention to these somatic underpinnings of the present moment during the supervisory process. In that case, we have access to an extraordinary flow of data and greater awareness of what is flowing in the field.
This workshop will; explore the role of embodiment in supervision, practice somatic exercises that deepen our relationship to the body, explore what arises and be open to what the field wishes to share with us.
This workshop will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our camera and microphones to interact with each other as a group.
To support practitioners in this time of extraordinary circumstances we are offering access to this group for a self-select fee.
The self-select fee is a radical inclusion policy to open learning for all colleagues. The guide price for this event is £20.00, however, we appreciate that income varies greatly in different locations and circumstances. Please contribute what you can to help us maintain inclusive professional training.
All the colleagues at ONLINEVENTS and the presenters we collaborate with are committed to working in a manner consistent with the BACP Ethical Framework, which can be accessed on the link below. When registering for this event you are agreeing to be present and interact in a manner that is consistent with this Framework.
