NQT Support & Development Programme - Session 5 NQT Support & Development Programme - Session 5
A programme designed to ensure the best support and guidance for Newly Qualified Teachers.

About this Event

Introduction and overview

This programme has been designed by the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance and Oxfordshire Teacher Training to ensure the very best support and guidance for Newly Qualified Teachers moving from their ITT programme into the early stages of their career.

The programme draws on a substantial research base including contributions from NQT Induction Tutors and teachers who have recently completed their NQT year. Throughout the programme participants will be supported in developing and improving their practice in accordance with the professional expectations of the induction period.

There will be regular contributions from key colleagues who have oversight of the statutory induction process to ensure that participants collect an appropriate body of evidence.

Each session will include:

  • a series of prompt questions for participants to reflect on prior to the session
  • a short piece of reading prior to the session
  • input from expert practitioners and specialists
  • input from recent NQTs
  • the chance to share specific challenges and areas of concern
  • suggestions for further follow up readings and actions
  • support from the OTSA NQT Induction Team about the statutory induction process

All sessions will take place online and will run from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
