Are you having problems with sleep, food battles, sibling rivalry, aggression or clinginess?

Join me for this six week online Hand in Hand Parenting Starter Class. This is the first time this class has been offered in-person in Belfast. 

It is a chance to take an in-depth look at the Hand in Hand Parenting approach and learn how to apply the five listening tools in your day-to-day parenting. 

Suitable for parents/carers of children aged under 10 years old. 

Wednesdays 7.45pm - 9.45pm starting 29th September

I deeply value all the love and connection parents and caregivers invest in their children, often with little outside help. I believe we all need support in our parenting journeys, especially when times get tough.

This is a great chance to join other like-minded parents and learn together. You will learn the basics of human connection, how to deal with specific parenting challenges and receive guidance and support throughout. 

You will also get access to online course materials including video content from Patty Wipfler the founder of Hand in Hand Parenting. You will have access to these videos for 6 months allowing you time to revisit the class content and share with your partner or other family members. 
 
What is Hand in Hand Parenting?

Hand in Hand Parenting is all about building a strong connection with your children. Strong emotional bonds in a family lead to happy and cooperative children. Research shows that a close parent-child connection is the strongest factor that protects children from difficulties in later life.

Hand in Hand Parenting believes that children's instinctive nature is to be kind, loving and cooperative. By supporting their emotional development, children will naturally be open and excited about life. Emotions are important signposts to a child's inner world. At Hand in Hand we help parents and caregivers listen to tears and tantrums without becoming reactive or trying to "fix" them. Navigating these strong emotions with warmth builds a deep and loving connection between parents and children.

Hand in Hand has five simple and practical tools to help parents balance authoritative limits with fun, laughter and one on one time. We are also passionate about supporting parents with their own emotions when times get tough. In the classes I teach, I provide parents with the resources, tools and the listening they themselves need so they can remain steady when their children most need their support.

What you will learn:

The importance of connection and the science behind it
How to respectfully deal with your children’s strong emotions including crying, tantrums, bad tempers and boredom
How to approach common parenting challenges such as sleep issues, separation anxiety, aggression, anxiety, food battles 
Why parents lose their temper and what to do about it
How to set limits with love
How to bring more play and laughter into your home
How to build your own support system
 
What the course covers week by week:

Week 1: The value of connection
Week 2: Understanding your children’s emotions
Week 3: Why we lose it with our children and how to build a closer connection
Week 4: Why children’s behaviour goes “off-track” and how to help them
Week 5: Understanding children’s emotional projects and building confidence through laughter
Week 6: Time in vs time out, building support and making a connection plan

The course will run on Wednesday evenings 8pm - 9.45pm on the following dates: 29th September, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th October, 3rd Nov (option to take a week off for Halloween midterm on agreement with the group)
