About this Event

Strengthen families. Foster hope. Become a foster parent.

Join us to learn more about foster care and how you can help strengthen families. Consider how you can help foster hope in the life of a teen, keep siblings together, and build life-changing relationships as a foster parent.

You will learn:

  • Why fostering matters
  • How to become a licensed foster parent
  • Basics about LSS foster care options and services
  • Ways we support our Lutheran Social Service Therapeutic Foster Care families

We are in need of families that reflect the diverse racial, cultural, faith and spiritual beliefs, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation of children and families in Minnesota. This includes BIPOC families and LGBTQIA2S+ families and individuals, and families and individuals committed to providing nurturing, affirming care for all children and youth. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota Therapeutic Foster Care is committed to an affirming system of care and support for all children, youth and families, our co-workers and the communities we support.

Questions? Contact Jodi Raidt, Statewide Program Manager, at am9kaSAhIHJhaWR0IHwgbHNzbW4gISBvcmc= or 612.499.5990.

Audience is for Minnesota residents only.

About The Host: Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota began in 1865 when a Lutheran pastor and his congregation opened an orphanage for children near Red Wing. Today, with 2,300 employees and 8,000 volunteers, Lutheran Social Service helps one in 65 Minnesotans each year live and work in a community with safety, dignity, and hope. Through a wide range of services, the organization seeks to provide safety and supportive homes for children, counseling to restore health and wellness in families, community living for people with disabilities, and options that help seniors experience independence and abundant aging.
