Each session we will look at an LGBTQIA identifying musician, performer, or artist and look at their history and impact on the LGBTQIA community.
We will then use influence from their work in a group songwriting task or activity, with opportunities to and discuss at the end of the session.
This months artist is yet to be confirmed.
If you were not able to attend our previous session, you are still welcome to come along as we will cover what we looked at last time.
Workshops are welcoming and inclusive! No prior songwriting experience is needed, sessions are welcome to all regardless of ability!
More about event organiser, Leeds LGBT Community Consortium

We aim to improve health and wellbeing by providing inter-generational activities, events and information to enable LGBTQ+ people to develop new interests and become more connected.
FAQ:
Can I come to the session, if I'm not a musician?
Of course! Because these sessions take place via Zoom, we focus our songwriting tasks on writing lyrics that could later be set to music, so anyone can come along and enjoy the tasks.
Will I be made to share any of my writing?
No, Maddie will give everyone the opportunity to share their writing but you will never be made to read/perform in the sessions.
Can I come to this session if I’ve not been before?
Yes! Feel free to let the session facilitator know if you haven’t come along to one of our sessions in the past and they’ll be sure to make you feel welcome in the group!
Can I come to sessions if I’m not a member of the LGBT Community?
LLCC is proud to offer our sessions for free. This is because we receive funding to host sessions and events specifically for people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ Community. Allies of the LGBTQ+ Community are encouraged to promote our sessions to LGBTQ+ friends, service users and colleagues.
