Kuyper College and ACMNP are partnering together to enable students to earn academic credit for their leadership experience.

About this Event

Kuyper College and ACMNP are partnering together to enable students to earn undergraduate or graduate academic credit for their leadership experience with ACMNP. This partnership invites students to reflect on their leadership training and experience in light of some additional readings through a reflective essay.

Undergraduate Student Information

Undergraduate students may earn up to three credits for their experience for their leadership training and experience while serving with ACMNP.

LD 301, Leadership Development through Kuyper College. LD 301 is an experiential course offered in conjunction with A Christian Ministry in the National Parks that provides an assessment of a student’s leadership profile, coaching, readings, and leadership experience. The student will reflect on their entire experience and prepare an essay that interacts with the leadership assessment, readings, and experience to describe how they matured as a leader as well as an outline for a leadership development workshop and a professional leadership development plan.

Students desiring to earn between 1 and 3 credits must complete the following assignments.

Participate fully in A Christian Ministry in the National Parks program and complete the following assignments.

1 Credit Hour: read Quentin Schultze, Here I Am and submit a 750-1,000 word essay.

2 Credit Hours: read Quentin Schultze, Here I Am; Jeff Degraff, Innovation You; and submit a 1,250-1,500 word essay.

3 Credit Hours: read Quentin Schultze, Here I Am; Jeff Degraff, Innovation You; Simon Sinek, Leaders Eat Last; and prepare a 2,000-2,250 word essay.

Further instructions for the essay will be sent upon receipt of your registration.

The nonrefundable cost per credit hour is $125 plus a $25 application fee.

The last day to register for this opportunity is Jan. 29, 2021.

Graduate Student Information

Graduate students may register for LD 501, Leadership Development while serving with ACMNP. This is an experiential course offered in conjunction with A Christian Ministry in the National Parks that provides an assessment of a student’s leadership profile, coaching, readings, and leadership experience. The student will reflect on their entire experience and prepare an essay that interacts with the leadership assessment, readings, and experience to describe how they matured as a leader as well as an outline for a leadership development workshop and a professional leadership development plan.

Students desiring to earn three academic credit are required to participate fully in Christian Ministry in the National Parks program and prepare a final reflective essay (3,250-3,500 words) based on assigned readings and the findings of the Student Leader Profile that examines how various experiences throughout the summer shaped and informed them as a leader. The readings for the summer are: Quentin Schultze, Here I Am; Jeff Degraff, Innovation You; Simon Sinek, Leaders Eat Last; Kathleen Calahan, The Stories We Live.

The nonrefundable cost for three credit hours is $450 plus a $25 application fee.
