APEX is open to any member of staff who is involved in teaching and supporting student learning who would like to work towards professional recognition for their work. We particularly welcome new academic and learning support staff who are new to teaching and experienced staff who are new to Portsmouth. Ideally, your registration form should be completed and endorsed by your Head of Department prior to this event, but registration can be completed on the day or shortly afterwards. Forms and further information can be accessed at  https://sites.google.com/port.ac.uk/apex/apex-home

The requirements for recognition as an HEA-accredited Associate Fellow, Fellow or Senior Fellow through the University of Portsmouth's APEX programme will be explained at the Orientation.

Associate Fellow: For all staff who have responsibilities for supporting student learning in higher education but whose main role is in research, technology-enhanced learning or another activity which supports students learning.

Fellow: For all academic staff with previous experience who are involved in teaching, assessing and supporting student learning.

Senior Fellow: for highly experienced academic staff with a considerable level of scholarly and professional expertise with leadership and mentoring roles in learning and teaching.

Ahead of the orientation session please read through the Guide to the UK Professional Standards Framework.

Please also complete the AdvanceHE Fellowship category tool to determine which category of Fellowship most closely aligns to your current professional role and responsibilities.

You will be asked to report back the result provided by the tool at the orientation event.
