Join us in this practice celebration and ceremony of Imbolc. As the midpoint of the winter solstice and the spring equinox Imbolc marks an important time in the ancient Celtic calendar and in our modern intention to embrace seasonal living. After the darkess and stillness of winter the months of turning inward and hibernation this festival celebrates the first stirrings of new life and attunes us to the earliest breaths of spring… In our modern culture we tend to rush in to manifesting our intentions in the New Year and then burn ourselves out by the end of January. Living more seasonally aligned we honour this time as the end of a gestition period of the intentions which we set at Winter solstice. There is much subtelty to embrace and lots to be gained from dwelling in and marking this potent time. Through Imbolc we learn the power of gently coming into to manifestation; of long-term habit change; and the tender art of awakening. Join us as we explore awakening through: Gentle movement to stretch and begin to shed our winter stagnancyThe breath as a cleanser and catalyser for growth and manifesting intentionMeditation and awakening our consciousnessActive imagination and journalingSharing and community support in leaving what is safe and comfortable in order to grow more fully into yourself. A review of seasonal and traditional foods and lifestyle practices that can help us align with these timesCeremony and ritual inspired by ancient traditionsJoin us as we cast the spell of a new reality to emerge. What to expectWe invite you to light some candles and prepare your space so that you can really drop into a state of relaxation and body connection.Please bring an (unlit) candle (safely contained within a tealight or candle holder) so that we may light a flame together together in symbolic action of marking the moment in ceremony.We recommend having a yoga mat and plenty of blankets bolsters and/or cushions to hand to provide support comfort and layers for the extended poses.A journal/notebook to record anything that comes alive for you in the ceremony will be helpful.Sessions take place via Zoom and you will receive the livestream link just before the session starts. You're welcome to have your camera on or off for the session.Creating a Sacred SpaceThere are many benefits to preparing your space before a ceremony or self-care ritual.
