About this Event

In this high yield half day workshop, you will learn the basics of stress, how to manage stress through mindfulness yoga, learn the basics of healthy eating and holistic wellbeing.

Stress is a well recognised cause of many chronic physical health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure as well as mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Understanding the warning signs of stress on your physical and emotional health and taking active steps to manage your stress levels could prevent long term health consequences.

According to the 2018/19 HSE Labour Force Survey, Stress, Depression or Anxiety account for 21% of work-related sickness in the UK. This is equivalent to 12.8 million working days lost.

Dr Sarmila Sinha is a trained mental health expert and a medical doctor by profession. She has worked in the NHS for the past 15 years and was a health and wellbeing ambassador for doctors within NHS. She has the knowledge and expertise in stress, its effects and has developed a unique and simple way to manage stress. Dr Sinha has developed an innovative 4C Approach to Stress Management. Her book 'An Expert Guide to Stress Management' , was a number one best seller on Amazon Kindle.

Dr Sinha has been a Stress Management trainer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was a health and well-being ambassador for doctors in the NHS.

Ruby Nayyar is a professional dancer with a career path spanning over 20 years, including leading private and corporate teams to health and wellbeing, dance, art & nutritional workshops for children & adults, special needs (Tree Tops Essex), working with the NHS for health prescription diabetic dance classes, teaching couple’s choreography, working for Local Authorities, Leisure Centres and London community centre's. She has trained advanced dancers for high end corporate entertainment events (Wilko, Gibson Hall, London, Saffron D’or, Madhus).

She has taught Yoga, Kathak, Bollywood, Bhangra & Dance Fit classes under programmes funded by Redbridge, Newham, Grenwich and The Kenneth Moore Theatre along with Greenwich University. Additionally, I incorporate unique styles into my dance classes (Alexander Technique, Mindfulness) at primary, secondary school levels as well as Couple's wedding dance choreography. During world Enterprise Day in February 2020, she went to Primary schools giving presentations about Nutrition, Art and Dance, which was a huge success.

After continuing her Continual Professional Development with Redbridge and Learning Curve, she was awarded the Redbridge Student Winner of the Year 2018. Between 2016 - 2018 she studied Exercise, Fitness, Nutrition and Meditation. These courses gave her a unique edge to teach and incorporate both nutrition and mindfulness into my classes and sessions.
