About this Event

🎬 We want to invite you to an online screening of the documentary film *High Risk: Black Mothers Protecting Themselves and Their Babies."

CDC data show that Black women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women, with most of the maternal deaths being preventable. This heightened risk spans all income and education levels. --According to the study from the National Bureau of Economic Research

W e will explore this topic to better understand the challenges that Black mothers face.

*High Risk" sheds light on the challenges faced by Black women during pregnancy and childbirth. This powerful documentary not only highlights the struggles but also showcases the strength, and resilience of Black women. In a quest to answer the question "Why are so many Black women dying while giving birth in America?" We interview mothers, midwives, doulas and healthcare professionals to better understand this crisis while providing helpful tips and tactics to improve outcomes for Black mothers.
