EVENT DESCRIPTION
Hakomi is a powerful and gentle method of somatic mindfulness-based psychotherapy. The Hakomi principles are also a way to guide our daily lives—a gentle and somatic alignment with our inner wisdom in wakeful relation to the world around us. Loving presence is an overarching core principle that builds the foundation for the five key Hakomi principles: non-violence, body-mind integration, organicity, unity, and mindfulness. The inner state of loving presence is both innate and can be cultivated with somatic practices and experiential learning.
Join somatic psychotherapist and international Hakomi trainer Manuela Mischke-Reeds for an illuminating workshop on how to activate the powerful healing capacity of the Hakomi method. This workshop is an experiential guidance through the Hakomi principles to help build inner resilience and compassionate action for ourselves and for others.
At the core of every trauma experience lives the longing for peace, belonging, and restorative experiences. The Hakomi method inquiry is: how do you stand in relation to the many selves? Through Manuela’s expert guidance, participants mindfully explore their associations and connections to trauma, and what stands in the way to returning to the loving presence within.
This workshop combines short talks, small group explorations, and longer guided mindful-somatic experiential practices. It is suited for anyone interested in exploring this powerful and gentle method for themselves and for their healing work as a practitioner, therapist, counselor, or spiritual seeker. A willingness to be in somatic practices and mindful engagement is required.
