About this Event

Attention: Eventbrite has just announced a change to their pricing and different price plans have been introduced according to the number of target attendees per event. This has affected our organisation badly since we have allowed an unlimited amount of participants to take part in all our online workshops since the pandemic. As a result of the changes, we can now only release 100 tickets per online workshop. We will take registration on a first come, first served basis. If you can no longer attend the workshop after registering, please kindly cancel your ticket to allow those on the waiting list to register. Thank you.

Workshop introduction:

Workshop leader Annie will guide participants through dance exercises, steps and techniques. By the end of the lesson, you'll have learned a beautiful Chinese Classical dance! The dance steps will be easy to follow, and you'll have a taste of Chinese culture while having fun.

Name of Dance: Farewell to Chang'an 告别长安 (No Props Needed)

You'll need:

  • Comfortable gym clothes
  • Space to move around

Recommended for:

All age groups, genders and levels - no previous dance experience required.

Workshop Leader: Ming Chu (Annie) Au

Artist Profile:

Annie is a Scottish performing artist, choreographer and teacher, specializing in Classical Chinese dance. Annie trained in Hong Kong since 1989 and has experience in various dance types including Contemporary, Jazz, Social and aerobics. Annie is the Founder-Director of the dance school 'Glasgow Oriental Dancing Association' based in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. As a dance artist, Annie is currently engaged in creating new choreographic work collaborating with diverse artists in UK communities. Annie aims to help develop people’s interest in and knowledge of Chinese culture and art. Annie teaches Classical Chinese dance and contemporary dance for all ages.

How to join the workshop:

The workshop will be delivered via Zoom. You will receive a Zoom workshop link and password to join the workshop after registration. Please join the workshop on time.
