Advanced Facilitation and Design Jam (Liberating Structures) - AustraliaUS Advanced Facilitation and Design Jam (Liberating Structures) - Australia/US
Virtual Facilitators Cohort experience - 3 weeks of advanced LS practice, Design Jam Open Space, social learning designed for virtual times

About this Event

**US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand friendly time**

Wednesdays Nov. 4, Nov. 11 and Nov 18 - 6 to 9pm ET/ 3 to 6pm PT

(Thursdays Nov 5, Nov 12 and Nov 19 - 10 AM AEST)

Go beyond the Liberating Structures basics and join us for a virtual facilitators cohort learning experience!

In these three weekly three-hour sessions you will explore some of the more advanced structures such as Panarchy, Purpose to Practice, and Discovery and Action Dialogue (DAD) . We found them to be relevant in the variety of complex use cases:

  1. Leading an Agile/Lean transformation effort in your organization
  2. Managing systems redesign
  3. Navigating a change initiative
  4. Galvanizing your team to plan for 2021
  5. Establishing policies and practices for adjusting to the new normal
  6. Mapping out how you will engage and support the post-pandemic workforce

These structures enable you to bring diversity of voices and perspectives, engage participants at all levels, harvest novel ideas and solutions in response to wicked questions we all face today.

What to expect from this workshop?

Every session will start with a deep-dive into one of these advanced Liberating Structures. We will then shift to an Open Space Design Jam, to build workshop designs for the most important topics you bring into each session.

Working with your instructors and your virtual facilitators cohort, you will plan and design your next workshop or a team meeting using Liberating Structures. You will connect LS into powerful LS Strings and use LS Design Boards to build a complete agenda with invitations, format, timing and debrief for each Liberating Structure in your LS String.

Fun fact: while learning more advanced Panarchy, Purpose to Practice, and Discovery and Action Dialogue (DAD), you will also get a refresher on

1-2-4-All, What? So What? Now What?, Shift-and-Share and Ecocycle Planning

All Liberating Structures and Design sessions will use Mural as a virtual collaboration space, Zoom breakout sessions and GoogleSlides ( as a plan B)

Your cohort will stay connected between the sessions via a private Slack channel – your opportunity to ask questions, share your experience from facilitating the workshop you've designed in the class. You will continue learning through the homework activities and ideas exchange with your peers, give and receive feedback as well as share tips/ tricks with your peers and the instructors.

This workshop will give you the information and skills to:
  1. Engage your team members and program participants in new ways through high-impact, interactive virtual sessions
  2. Infuse fun and energy in your meetings and workshops with Liberating Structures adapted to the virtual space
  3. Elevate your comfort level with a few of the more complex Liberating Structures
  4. Confidently design programs using a variety of Liberating Structures
  5. Evangelize techniques that result in positive outcomes within your organization and transform the way people think about meetings.
