Today is Ash Wednesday – one of the most revered holidays among the Catholic community. As the Church observes this holiday, we will take a virtual experience of one of the most visited sites in the world- Vatican City- and learn the complex history, the reason why it is often called the “richest country in the world”, and what is an average day like for the Pope. We’ll also get a glimpse into what exactly goes into preparing for this busy holiday period.
Join a live virtual guide who will take us through this history of the Vatican, followed by a tour of what you may have seen if you were visiting today.
We begin in the center of Rome at the home and workplace of Pope Francis. Learn the history of this Catholic treasure and explore the museum and paintings within, including the Sistine Chapel, paintings by Michelangelo, St. Peter’s Square, the Vatican Gardens, and more!
