We need everyone’s help this summer to take part in the 313 Summer Reading Challenge. From children, teens to adults—this year all ages are encouraged to participate. The Detroit Public Library and the City of Detroit Arts, Culture & Entrepreneurship Office are inviting the entire city and readers everywhere to read together during this pandemic to reach 3.13 million minutes as a symbolic gesture for the determination, perseverance and celebration of our love for reading and for each other.
Between June 15 and September 7—all you need to do is READ. And then log your minutes. Re-read your favorite book, find a new one, read to your children, kids can read to family over the phone, create a virtual book club with friends. There will be prizes including weekly drawings and grand prizes at the end!
