Safe Urban Driving (Half-Day Webinar) (Funded by TFL) - FS LIVE

About this Event

Safe Urban Driving and Van Smart – in order to assist operators, a temporary relaxation is in place around meeting ‘S5 Professional development’ WRRR requirement for SUD and VS.During the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to provide support to FORS members, FORS has introduced a temporary relaxation for meeting the work-related road risk (WRRR) professional development requirement S5 for FORS members wishing to progress to Silver, or renewing their Silver accreditation. This means that from now until further notice from FORS, members will be able to pass the WRRR training requirement by undertaking the theory part only of Safe Urban Driving (SUD) or Van Smart (VS), with the practical on-cycle element undertaken by the time of the following yearly Silver re-approval audit.

This course is for the THEORY ELEMENT of Safe Urban Driving and consists of 3.5hrs of theory training. You will be contacted at a later date to complete the practical cycle element when social distancing rules are relaxed.

This course is being delivered via Fleet Source Live, the new dynamic interactive livecast.

This is not your usual Webinar, this is delivered direct from our TV studios, with each course fully interactive between trainer and delegates, using discussions to keep delegates engaged and informed.

The course consists of one 3.5 hour module which is the theory part only of SUD; .

Theory Module (3.5 hours)

This part of the course focuses on sharing the road safely and highlights the vulnerability of other road users. It also explains how the London streetscape is evolving to encourage more walking and cycling. Subjects covered include:-

• The driver’s role in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS)

• Urban driving, changing streetscape and route planning

• Vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists

• Sharing the road, observation devices and cycle training

• Collision avoidance and defensive driving

• Hazard recognition and perception

• Driver responsibility and attitude

Please enter the following METIS ID when instructed to do so: (metis ID)
