VICTOR JONES PERCUSSIONIST!  In his early twenties he toured the world with Stan Getz.  Later tours were with James Moody, Michel Petrucciani, Joe Olivia, Stanley Clarke, Phyllis Hyman,, Dizzy Gillespie and Chaka Khan as well as others.

Stan Getz said, “Victor is one top of the world caliber drummers and I don’t say that lightly.”

VICTOR JONES
Best known as the drummer of Stan Getz for many years, the American New York-based drummer Victor Jones has also worked with Little Jimmy Scott, Chaka Khan, Michel Petrucciani, Woody Shaw, James Moody, Wynton Marsalis, Nile Rogers and numerous others. Recognized as one of the most prolific and eclectic drummers in jazz today, he appears on more than two hundred recordings and soundtracks. A two time Grammy nominee - one time winner, and a one time Oscar nominated artist. Victor
began his musical journey back in the late 60s as a classical trumpet player in his hometown of East Orange New Jersey. After 10 years of studying trumpet he became interested in the drums from listening to Ringo Starr and the Beatles and from there he
discovered the music of James Brown, Jimmy Hendrix, John Coltrane and Miles Davis, and went on to develop and an illustrious career as an elite drummer in the jazz world.

JOHN HOUSHMAND
John Houshmand has had a creative career as a composer and guitarist for Laurasia, the Audio Artists, and East River Consort, as well as a solo guitar improviser working in the tradition of real-time compositional improvisation. He has authored much of the
Laurasia work, and opened for Ralph Towner, Shadowfax, and other eclectic groups. He was the straight-man with the Audio Artists, playing electric, baritone, and toy guitar, and is one of the mentors behind SOUNDWALL, the front band for his sonic architecture company with Ed Potokar. He is featured on his solo CD Void of Course, as
well as Laurasia, Undiscovered Country, Audio Artists LIVE at HERE, and numerous other CD’s. He also has a design company, www.johnhoushmand.com, and a working
farm in Hobart NY, www.svrhay.com.
