The B Side, along with the Carrington & Johnson families, invites you to G-Fest on April 18th—a fundraiser for the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship, which supports local students as they pursue their education and musical passions.

This year, we’re proud to honor Tom Slavinsky, a distinguished music educator and performer whose career has left a lasting mark on the Oneonta community and on 1000s of students as they began their exploration of musical performance. A graduate of Hartwick College, Tom spent 33 years as an instrumental music teacher with the Oneonta City School District, and has touched the lives of generations.

Tom’s performance career is equally remarkable. He was part of the inaugural season of the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra in 1975 and remained a member for 46 years. He performed extensively with regional orchestras and theater groups throughout upstate New York.

Join us for a great night celebrating Tom and his contributions while supporting the next generation of musicians through the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
