- **Event Description**: Join us in person or on Zoom and hear Madison County Historian Matt Urtz talk about his new book, Historic Fires Madison  of Madison County.

The book looks at damaging fires from throughout Madison County’s history— the mysterious burning of the Madison County Courthouse, the complete loss of business districts in both Canastota and Hamilton, and the arsonist who terrorized Cazenovia for nearly five years—and examines what happened and how it impacted the local community.

Urtz will talk about fires that didn’t make the book, but also have unique stories.

A Q&A and book signing will follow the presentation.

Event Details:
-The cost for this tour is $10 general admission, free for members and students.
-All registrants will receive a Zoom link within 48 hours of registration.
-Parking is available in the rear of the Mansion House.


All proceeds support the preservation of the Oneida Community Mansion House and its educational programs.
