About Wyrmwood
Wyrmwood is an ever evolving psychedelic rock band from Omaha. Their 2023 debut album “Jump in the Water” largely touched on a folk style of rock with psychedelic hues. Mixed by local engineer, Ian Aeillo, the record sounds like a modern creation inspired by the sounds conjured by 70s folk and progressive rock legends.
Two years later, Wyrmwood has evolved into a 6 piece power prog band, with spacious analog synths, percussion, stacked vocal harmonies, and an increasingly immersive visual experience curated by local artist Michael Zimmerman. 8 additional guests are featured on the new record, including Mike Robinson (Railroad Earth) & Oliver Craven (Sierra Ferrell). Taking more risks, Wyrmwood delivers with a bigger sounding & dense (but intentionally orchestrated) record! The new concept double LP, “Shelf Life” clocks in at 83 minutes, and thematically centers around the relationship between self preservation and death. The album was again mixed by Ian Aeillo and mastered by Doug Van Sloun.
Fear not death (in general), or a dismal vibe at this show! It is a heavy record, both sonically and thematically, but ultimately stands as a piece that takes the listener on a progressively wild journey. It stresses the importance of presence and acceptance of our demise. There is much joy and love in the core message. It is the band's hope that you leave the show feeling catharsis, & more connected with yourself and everyone who shares in this one of a kind experience.
New merch, including a double LP vinyl and CDs will be available for purchase for the first time at this show. Joining Wyrmwood for the full album set is the Absinthium Horns and Kristen Taylor! Expect a transformative experience seeped in melty visuals and accessable progressive rock n roll. It's our Shelf Life!!
