- **Event Description**: A special afternoon of poets performing new work and collaborative workshop honoring 100 years of Black History Month.About this EventRequisition; the state of being in demand or use:Celebrating Black History Month and 100 Years of Negro History Week, The Love Requisiton is a collaborative poetry performance and workshop by State Poet Jewel Rodgers, Denver based poet & artist, Hakeem Furious, and veteran poet and NWC Co-Executive Director, Zedeka Poindexter.Jewel Rodgers and Hakeem Furious will present new collaborative work based off of Black cultural eferences of love (songs, movies, essays, books, etc)Zedeka Poindexter will perform new work around the theme of love.Following the performance, the poets will host a community based workshop focused on collaboration, and poetry/storytelling as a way of community building.Join us for a special afternoon filled with Black History, Black Futures, and Love in Demand.Light refreshments will be available.Thank YouThis program was graciously made possible by The Borderless Collective and support from The Nebraska Arts Council, federally funded by The National Endowment for Arts.
