Join Urban Abbey and OTOC for a book club meeting to discuss The Darkened Light of Faith: Race, Democracy, and Freedom in African American Political Thought on Tuesday, October 27th from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. 

This meeting will be co-facilitated by staff leaders and community members from both OTOC and Urban Abbey. Snacks will be provided alongside complimentary hot coffee, water, and iced tea. 

An ambitious account of the profound ways African Americans have reimagined democracy, The Darkened Light of Faith offers invaluable lessons about how to grapple with racial injustice and make democracy work.

This meeting will take place in person at 1026 Jackson St. Omaha, NE 68102. There is metered street parking on all sides of the block surrounding the location and a city-owned parking garage located directly across the street at the corner of 10th and Jackson St. This location is accessible by Metro Transit's MOBY service and by fixed route bus lines 11, 15, 13, and ORBT. It is also accessible via Heartland Bike Share and Lime scooters and the nearest bike share station is located directly across the street. 

The venue has no stairs. If you have accessibility related needs, please let us know.

UNO Criss Library: You can access this title from UNO as a physical book.
