This class will introduce you to simple and inexpensive ways to stitch some beauty onto items you already have in your closet. I will guide you through creating a simple design, talk through color and placement choices, and help you get started stitching! I am self taught and hope to bring a spirit of experimentation, play, and permission to create. Please bring a few items of clothing that you could imagine adding a design to. Natural materials like cotton and linen are great, but not necessary. Something not too stretchy or too thick to get your needle through will work best. I will provide a variety of threads, hoops, and needles but if you have any of these items that you know you enjoy to use, please bring them. I will share some of my favorite products, artists who inspire me, and share some about my own exploration with embroidery. No prior experience necessary. Depending on how complex of a design you choose, you may leave with a fully embellished piece.
