Join naturalist and longtime Princeton resident John Henry for a fascinating slideshow presentation exploring the ancient fossil beds of the Princeton area. These remarkable Eocene-era deposits offer rare glimpses into a prehistoric world—where ancient fish, insects, and plants were preserved in extraordinary detail.

Drawing on his lifelong passion for natural history and local geology, John will introduce the unique conditions that created these fossils, what they reveal about life 50 million years ago, and the scientific significance of our region’s contribution to paleontology. This engaging talk is ideal for anyone curious about the deep natural history buried just beneath our modern landscape.

About the Sunday Speaker Series:
Each Sunday from May through October, we welcome a new guest presenter into our Apple House to share fascinating stories and insights into the natural, cultural, and historical landscape of our region. Topics range widely—from Indigenous history and pioneer technologies to Victorian gardening, food traditions, conservation efforts, and beyond. Presentations are informal, engaging, and typically run about 45–60 minutes.
