- **Event Description**: We will be working on invasive species removals and a bit of native planting! This includes pulling smaller plants from the root and cutting the larger ones at the base of the stem, and gathering these into wheelbarrows for disposal. This work can be moderately strenuous. Additionally we will be planting native species to support pollinators in hirundo's large garden bed by the pond. This will include light to moderately strenuous work - removing old roots, dumping in new soil, and planting the new plants. 

We will provide all the equipment and tools needed to complete this work including work gloves, loppers, eye protection, etc. However if you have your own relevent equipment we encourage you to bring it along since our supplies are limited. 

How to prepare:
Bring a water bottle
Wear sturdy close-toed shoes
Wear long pants
Wear or bring Bug spray & Sunscreen 
& wear or bring whatever else you might need to protect yourself from ticks and/or poison ivy and stay cool.
We will have a water refill station and some quick snacks available! We will meet at the Pine Parking Area at Gate 1 of Hirundo Wildlife Refuge, 1107 West Old Town Road
