​Join Downtown Old Town (DTOT) and the Maine Downtown Center as we kick off our brand-new summer series, Summer Community Nights!

​Our very first event of the summer is a deeply meaningful evening dedicated to Honoring Our Veterans & Military (Theme: The Year is 1976). Come out to the park, grab some food, enjoy local music, and help us show our immense gratitude to our local heroes.

​? When: Wednesday, June 17, 2026

⏰ Time: 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

? Where: Binette Park, Downtown Old Town, ME

​? EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

​FREE BBQ: The grill will be fired up with a free BBQ for the first 400 attendees! Huge thanks to our volunteers from the United Baptist Church of Old Town for making this happen.

​LIVE MUSIC: Enjoy great local music performed live by Rachel Blackerby.

​SPECIAL TREATS: McPhee Concessions will be on-site serving up delicious extra treats.

​FAMILY FUN: Bring the whole family for cornhole, lawn games, activities, and kid’s party favors!

​?️ SPECIAL RECOGNITION CEREMONY

​(Begins directly after the meal)

​7:00 P.M. – The National Anthem will be sung by Zeny Robbins to officially open our ceremony.

​Gifts of Appreciation: A small token of appreciation will be presented to each veteran in attendance.

​Service Songs: Members from each military branch will be invited to stand or wave as their team song is played so we can recognize your service.

​Pre-1976 Honorees: We are extending a heartfelt, special recognition to all area veterans who served before 1976, including our Korean War and Vietnam War veterans.

​Veterans' Organizations: We warmly encourage all local area veterans’ organizations to attend and take part in this special community evening.

​? WHAT TO BRING & KNOW

​? BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS! Don't forget to pack your favorite lawn chairs or blankets so you can sit back and comfortably enjoy the evening.

​Save the date for Night 2 of our Summer Community Nights on Monday, July 6 at 6:30 P.m., featuring a live concert by the 195th Maine Army National Guard Band!
