Acclaimed guitarist and composer Stephane Wrembel—renowned for his original music in Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona—returns to The Kate with his 9-piece ensemble, Django New Orleans, to celebrate the release of Django New Orleans II: Hors-Série out November 14, 2025.
Blending the rich traditions of New Orleans brass with the fiery spirit of Django Reinhardt’s “Jazz Manouche,” Django New Orleans reimagines timeless classics with thrilling new energy. Hors-Série features two original compositions by Wrembel, including his debut as a vocalist, adding new layers to the group’s already expansive sound.
Expect everything from soulful swing to jubilant second lines. As Jason Olaine, V.P. of programming of Jazz at Lincoln Center, writes, “Django New Orleans is a down-home party meets a high-end listening experience… the best of both worlds.”
