These future veterinarians will learn about the key responsibilities of veterinarians specializing in dog and cat medical care. They will be practicing how to perform dog and cat assessments by making a nose to tail exam. They will also learn about canine and feline health through proper animal nutrition and hydration, perform a wound assessment and practice some basic surgical skills, learn about common conditions in animals, how to remove ticks, learn about the immune system and vaccinations, practice administering medication, comprehend the types of animal body language, learn about the functions of an animal’s vital organ systems such as the heart, blood, digestive system, eyes and brain, read x-rays and more.
