The Town of Okotoks in partnership with Siksika Nation, invite everyone to come experience, celebrate and take part in the all-Indigenous Artisan Market, Tipi Camp and Powwow, just in time for National Indigenous People's History Month, which runs throughout the month of June!
This celebration is an important part of the Town’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation, creating opportunity to celebrate Indigenous culture, identity and art.
The all-Indigenous Artisan Market, “Iitohpoom’op,” (Blackfoot word for store) is back for year three, from Friday May 30 to Sunday June 1! This year, the market will include 64 Indigenous, artists and creators from across the country selling their authentic, unique crafts and art with all sale proceeds going directly back to the artist.
Also returning for its third year is the Tipi Camp! Located just outside of the Okotoks Recreation Centre from Friday May 30 to Sunday June 1. The community is invited to visit the Tipi Camp. The Tipi Camp brings together important partners for conversation and ceremony.
New this year, a two-day competition Powwow happening in the Murray Arena on Saturday May 31 and Sunday, June 1! Come and experience what is sure to be a vibrant and exciting display of Indigenous culture! We’ll see you there!
