Featuring five musicians who grew up in El Paso, Lubbock, and Amarillo, West Texas Exiles channel the wide-open spaces of the Lone Star State into a sweeping, Americana-centered sound that feels both cinematic and deeply rooted.

Rising from the embers of the Dirty River Boys (co-founded by Marco Gutierrez in 2009), the Austin-based band features a triple-threat of songwriters — Marco Gutierrez, Daniel Davis, and Colin Gilmore (son of Texas legend Jimmie Dale Gilmore) — alongside seasoned bassist/producer Eric Harrison and powerhouse drummer Trinidad Leal.

Their 2023 debut EP set the stage for their first full-length album, 8000 Days, released in September and quickly climbing the Americana radio charts while earning critical praise. The recordings reflect the live fire they’ve built through a weekly residency at Austin’s legendary Continental Club and standout performances at SXSW, Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, Americanafest, Braun Brothers Reunion, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

This is road-tested, harmony-rich, West Texas Americana played with grit, heart, and serious chops.

Opening the night is Doak Hensley, an American songwriter from Happy Place, TX. His songs carry the dust and texture of the great American landscape — stories of salt-of-the-earth characters, stitched together with humor, swagger, and a little outlaw spirit. Inspired by hippies, rednecks, cowboys, and anyone who never cared much for labels, Doak’s music is guaranteed to put a little boogie in the britches of anyone with boots to scoot.
