Speed Dating, but make it queer inclusive and polyamorous

Speed Dating -
an organized social activity in which people seeking romantic relationships have a series of short conversations with potential partners in order to determine whether there is mutual interest.

If you've ever been to a speed dating event out in the monog world, we will be similar but different in a few key ways:

1.) being queer inclusive, we're not breaking people down by gender or assuming people are only interested in the opposite sex, generally we're throwing out all that cis-het normative nonsense. That said, you may end up talking to someone for 5 minutes who you have no interest in based on gender or sexuality. that's ok! you might also end up talking to someone who is your desired gender or sexuality that you also won't match with because of other factors. Be polite and kind and make a new friend!

2.) We will be asking folks to put their pronouns and name on the name tag and using symbols to express a few other key aspects of yourself so you can jump right into chatting with people about deeper things.

3.) If you come with your polycule, NP, or other romantic configuration, we will do our best to NOT to have you on a date with them during the speed-dating portion of the event, but it might happen. Please don't be disruptive or wander off the floor if you end up together so we can keep on pace.

4.) Please plan to come a few minutes early so we can get your contact card set up and get you set up with a rating sheet. If you match with someone ( or several someones) we will share your contact info with them - but only if you both match with each other and there's a genuine connection. please DON'T ask people on the mini date for contact info.

Cost: tips ( tips will be split between the organizer and the bartender- tips help us keep events like these going by paying for supplies + pays me [Emmy!] for my time. Most speed dating events cost between $15-$30 plus food/bev ) + cost of food/beverages at Parkside Eatery. PLEASE support the venue even if you don't give me a tip. Parkside is a new business!


Please arrive by 6:15, We will be beginning at 6:30 and need you to get a nametag + a brief contact card filled out.

I'm also asking that you RSVP as soon as possible so I can get an accurate headcount + get the right amount of supplies.
