Championed in the wake of the devastating mass attacks at Oxford High School and Michigan State University, Prevent 2 Protect was implemented to prevent targeted violence in K-12 schools while ensuring that high-risk youth receive the support, intervention, and community connection needed to change the trajectory of their lives, placing them on positive, prosocial paths.Prevent 2 Protect brings together schools, mental health professionals, law enforcement, and community partners to provide assessment, consultation, training, and coordinated, individualized intervention, with a focus on prevention rather than reaction.
