1– As a 5-day extended weekend starting Thursday Valentine’s Day through Monday Presidents Day, (14th – 18th)
2– As a 3-weekday retreat from Tuesday to Thursday.(19th – 21st)
3– As an 8-day by attending both retreats. (14th – 21st)
[Note: Each day will cover different content.]
Monday evening (the 18th), we will hold a special workshop with a Special Guest. Participants in any of the 3 groups – 5, 3, & 8 day groups are invited to attend. The workshop focus is on connecting to your true self, and with others.
The purpose of these quarterly retreats is to help you understand “Food is Delicious Medicine” – learning the power of food, its effect on your body, why detox, and how to prepare and how to maintain a healthful lifestyle. Each day will be broken into 3 parts:
Morning: The day begins with some form of movement – stretching, yoga, or a guided hike. This will be followed by an a la carte breakfast at Hip Vgn (choices include nutrient-rich juices and other more substantive options). Breakfast will be followed by a 1.5-hour lecture.
Afternoon: An a la carte lunch at Hip Vgn or another local restaurant of your choice. This will be followed by a 1.5-hour lecture, and then a late afternoon guided hike.
Evening: A la carte dinner at Hip Vgn or the restaurant of your choice followed by a 1.5 hour lecture.
Ken is the co-founder of Kale University and the executive chef at the Optimal Health Institute (OHI) in San Diego. He is also one of OHI’s main facilitators and will lead most of the retreat classes.
