A 50th reunion update.
Debra Crowder-Montgomery has been working hard calling places to get an idea of what would work for our reunion. We had to make some executive decisions, because the good dates were going quickly.
The Gran View, although nice, would have been very expensive. Dinner was in the range of $50-60/person.
We looked at the Elks Club, which got great reviews from the Class of ’85, who recently had their 40th there. They will do a nice buffet for us, for about $25/person. Deb has also arranged a DJ, at no cost.
The Freight House, unfortunately, is not taking any reservations for next summer, until October.
Given all the above info, we went ahead and reserved the Elks Club. We were hoping to do it on Saturday, but that day was already taken. Friday, July 24th, was open, so we grabbed it. We’ll probably start around 6 and go until whenever. It’s a short walk down to the park for people who want to view the Fireworks at 9:45.
We hope this is satisfactory for everyone. I know not all our classmates are on this page, so please disseminate this update widely. We’ll have more details as we get closer to the reunion. We are also going to look in to getting a tour of OFA during the day on Friday, if that’s something people would be interested in.
