Artist Name: Roberta Glidden

Artist Bio: I have studied with many local masters, both in northern Utah and in Jackson Hole, which offers a stunning range of landscapes in all seasons.

The emphasis has been on on-site or plein air studies using oil paint. The small studies are then developed and expanded in a studio setting. Working directly from nature gives me the most accurate colors and values, along with the excitement of being outdoors in the wind and the constantly changing light.

From Jackson Hole, I have access to Grand Teton National Park, and from Ogden, access to the Wasatch Range along with famous desert cliffs, canyons, and rivers.

In Jackson Hole, I have taken part in the June Plein Air event for the Wildlife Art Museum. In Ogden, I have been a long-time member/owner of Gallery 25, on Historic 25th Street.

Lately, I have been using loose acrylic paints applied entirely with a palette knife. The result is a more abstract view with all sorts of surprises to both the painter and the viewer. This method better represents the actual, constantly shifting way we experience nature.

**Biografía de la artista:**

He estudiado con numerosos maestros locales, tanto en el norte de Utah como en Jackson Hole, una región que ofrece una impresionante variedad de paisajes durante todas las estaciones del año.

Mi enfoque ha estado centrado en la pintura al aire libre (*plein air*), trabajando directamente en el lugar con pintura al óleo. Estos estudios de pequeño formato se desarrollan posteriormente y se amplían en el estudio. Trabajar directamente desde la naturaleza me permite captar los colores y valores más precisos, además de disfrutar la emoción de estar al aire libre, enfrentando el viento y la luz en constante cambio.

Desde Jackson Hole tengo acceso al Grand Teton National Park, y desde Ogden puedo disfrutar de la Cordillera Wasatch, así como de los famosos acantilados, cañones y ríos del desierto.
