James Farm Ecological Preserve
30048 Cedar Neck Road, Ocean View, United States
Participants will learn some tips and tricks for identifying different shells and shelled creatures we may find at the Preserve. We will talk briefly about the types of animals that live in shells and how they are important to the ecosystem.
The bulk of this program will take place walking along the beach. We recommend closed-toe shoes that can get wet and sandy. Please bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as the Preserve can be buggy at times.
We’ll walk approximately 0.5 miles to and from the beach, with the majority of the program spent walking along the sand at the beach.
Important Notes:
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
This program is weather permitting.
Attendance is free, but registration is encouraged. We reserve the right to turn away walk-ups if necessary.
For the privacy and comfort of our participants, staff, and volunteers, video or audio recording is not permitted during our programs. Guests are welcome to take photographs, but we ask that you do so in a way that respects the privacy of others. Thank you for helping us keep our programs safe and welcoming for everyone.
