I’ve been doing a lot of traveling the last several weeks but I’m back home now and looking forward to playing singing bowls by the bayou again while watching the sunset. And one of the latest sunsets of the year is coming up as we near the Summer Solstice.

I will be playing Friday 19 June at the usual spot by the water at Gulf Islands National Seashore. Sunset is at 8:02 so we’ll get started around 7:15. I’ll lead a short meditation to settle in and play for about 1/2 an hour or so until sunset.

As always, bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on or you can bring a chair or use the park benches if you’d rather. Or really test your zen and try a bed acorns in the grass. The possibilities boggle the mind.

I suggest your preferred form of gnat and mosquito repellent too. Rain will cancel the event. Park closes at dusk so we will bounce soon after we’re done. 

No charge for this. I’ll be there playing the sun down anyway and just want to share the vibes. All I ask is for you to be mindful of the energy you bring.

Entrance to Gulf Islands is in Ocean Springs at the red light by the hospital. Drive all the way down the road past the visitor center to where the picnic tables are. We’ll be down by the water. 

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to meditate. This is about rest, about switching off, letting the mind slow down and giving your body a chance to reset.
