Wine on the Beach Joins Ocean City’s Sunfest This October In a move long anticipated by Maryland wineries and wine lovers alike, the popular Wine on the Beach festival will become part of Ocean City’s annual Sunfest celebration this October. By purchasing a Wine on the Beach wristband, attendees will be able to move freely between the wine festival and the adjacent Sunfest grounds, enjoying the best of both events. “This partnership allows our guests to experience everything they love about Wine on the Beach, while also enjoying all that Sunfest has to offer,” said event manager Chris Nokes. “Winefest attendees will still enjoy beachfront picnicking, close proximity to the stage, and unlimited tastings of Maryland wines — all in a relaxed, scenic setting.” Guests will also have the option to purchase wine by the glass or bottle and explore Sunfest’s wide variety of food, craft, and merchandise vendors. “The Sunfest stage is located just outside our entrance, with continuous live music from local and national touring performers,” Nokes added. SunFest, traditionally a four-day event, will take place October 22–26, while Wine on the Beach will maintain its customary Friday–Saturday schedule on October 23 & 24. “We’ll continue to offer all the conveniences our guests expect,” Nokes said. “That includes a bulk pick-up area for wine purchases, wristbands for re-entry, plenty of beach space, benches, and picnic tables — perfect for enjoying the day with friends and family.” An added benefit of joining Sunfest is access to expanded transportation, attractions, and amenities already in place for the City’s long-running festival, creating an even more enjoyable experience for visitors.
