# Event Details - **Event Name**: Workshop: Watercolor Magic on Yupo - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 26 Sep, 2026 at 01:00 pm – Sat, 26 Sep, 2026 at 03:00 pm - **Event Description**: Discover the Beauty of Controlled Unpredictability! Have you ever wanted to create watercolor paintings that seem to have a life of their own? Join artist Jeffrey Moore as you explore the fascinating world of watercolor on Yupo paper, a unique synthetic, non-absorbent surface that transforms the way watercolor behaves. Unlike traditional watercolor paper, Yupo doesn't absorb paint. Instead, color floats, flows, blends, and interacts across the surface, creating luminous effects, stunning textures, and unexpected patterns that are simply impossible to achieve on conventional paper. The result is artwork that feels vibrant, organic, and full of movement. Part of the excitement of working on Yupo is embracing the unexpected. Colors mingle and travel in surprising ways, often creating beautiful effects that can't be replicated. While there is an element of unpredictability, you'll also learn techniques that help you guide the paint, influence the outcome, and gain greater control over this exciting medium. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll create a 5" x 7" watercolor painting using liquid watercolors, which are perfect for achieving the brilliant color, fluid motion, and captivating effects that make Yupo so unique. To keep the creative process moving, we'll use hair dryers throughout the class to accelerate drying times and allow for multiple layers and techniques. Whether you're completely new to watercolor or an experienced painter looking to try something different, this class offers a fun, relaxing, and inspiring opportunity to experiment, learn, and create. What You'll Learn • Yupo paper is different from traditional watercolor paper • How liquid watercolor behaves on a non-absorbent surface • Techniques for creating beautiful organic effects • Methods for influencing and controlling paint movement • Layering, lifting, and blending techniques unique to Yupo • How to balance spontaneity with artistic intention ________________________________________ Class Details ?
