This camp is for students currently in 7th and 8th grade (who will be in 8th and 9th grade in the fall). Camp activities will feature coding and robotic challenges with LEGO Mindstorms. Students will improve their teamwork skills, confidence in problem solving, and STEM creativity. They will hear several short presentations about state-of-the-art research at IHMC, and they will have lunch with an IHMC research scientist or STEM role model. No prior experience with programming or robotics is required - each student will work at their own pace.The camp fee is $245. Camp fees may be paid by credit card or by check. Reservations are not complete until payment is received and the student's acceptance is confirmed. Full financial assistance will be available for a number of qualified candidates, based on need.Camp takes place July 13-16, daily from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at IHMC in downtown Ocala.
