This is an intermediate class, but beginners are welcome.

Ages 14+

You will be making tiles and simple hand-built forms to learn various surface decoration techniques. These include how to add underglaze painting, wax resist decoration, wax resist etching, carving, sgraffito, slip trailing and mason stain mixing, additive sculpting, glazing and decals on your pieces and more. This is a technical class and you will receive lots of information that you can bring into your own studio practices in the future.

Students should bring an apron or large towels and a small notebook.
